NCP Secure Communications
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts
Theft of passwords and user names is one of the most frequently occurring security problems in the network. These access codes fall far short of providing adequate protection, particularly in remote access environments. Passwords and user names offer hackers a welcome area of attack for obtaining unauthorized access to a system. There are different ways to raise the access hurdle. OTP and certificates represent alternative technologies in this regard.
With OTP (One Time Password) so-called "One Time Passwords" are generated. One-Time-Passwords (dynamic passwords) replace static passwords and lose their validity immediately after use. They are used in conjunction with hardware tokens ("OTP tokens").
On the other hand, digital certificates offer a higher degree of protection, and in addition, can be implemented universally. They can be stored as software or they can be stored on a smart card as X.509 v3 certificates. You can work together, as needed, with multiple Trust Centers or Certification Authorities (CAs) Multi CA support).
