Secure Home Computing - working at home like in the office
The communications requirement:Secure remote access to the central data network over dial-up lines and the Internet. Alternating work in the office and at home using the same end device.
Home teleworkers require data connections to the corporate network that are performant and secure. Access can be either "direct" (company telephone number) or "indirect" via the Internet (ISP telephone number + IP address of the destination system). DSL (Internet access only), PSTN, ISDN are available as cable-based access networks.
If needed, data can also be exchanged with the corporate network via wireless networks; for instance, laptop and mobile phone
