The communications requirement:
Secure remote access to the central data network over public wireless networks and the Internet.
Access via GSM, HSCSD, GPRS, UMTS, satellite, or hotspots provides "operative freedom in data communications". Managers, sales personal, and technical personnel, etc. can access the corporate network via the Internet from any location worldwide. Regardless of whether the teleworker is in his car, in the train, at the airport, at a trade show, at his hotel, or at the customer's site. The transmission medium used depends on the desired bandwidth and the coverage (availability).
