Strong Security
Security Management
Strong security is synonymous with maximum data and access security. This security module corresponds to the third and highest security level of NCP secure communications. The central component is secure authentication through strict access controls based on digital certificates within a Public Key Infrastruktur (PKI). The certificates reside either on intelligent chipcards (smartcards) or as software certificates in the PC or on diskette. Each certificate is allocated to a specific application for example, remote access authorization in order to establish a secure link for data communication between the remote client and central server, encryption, or triggering the key exchange that then serves as Session Key, Single-Sign-On (SSO).
NCP Strong Security supports all advanced security features plus:
- PKI functionality
- Support for X.509 v. 3.0 certificates
- Support for chipcards (smartcards), card readers and tokens
- Soft Certificate (PKCS#12 files)
- Analysis of local and online Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs).
These are lists of blocked and expired certificates that are available to be viewed by anyone.
